Shipping & Logistics

Freight options can be quoted to major Australian ports, commercial addresses and selected mine sites, subject to cargo dimensions, carrier access and destination requirements. Lead time, Incoterms and documentation are confirmed on each quotation.

Logistics

Freight is part of the specification, not an afterthought

Freight planning should distinguish production time, dispatch, port transit, clearance and inland transport. The quotation identifies the named destination, Incoterm and estimated dates for the agreed scope.

Provide the destination, access restrictions and required arrival date so available freight routes and estimated transit times can be reviewed.

  • CIF, CFR and DAP terms quoted with the parts

Lead times

What to expect, and what changes it

Lead times are quoted per order against real sailings and current foundry loading, not from a marketing table.

Incoterms

Choose the term that suits how you clear freight

If you already have a customs broker and an inland freight contract, CIF or CFR keeps your costs clean. If you would rather have one delivered price, choose DAP.

CIF — Cost, Insurance and Freight

For sea transport under CIF, the seller arranges freight and the required insurance to the named destination port. Risk transfers when the goods are loaded on board at the shipment port. Import clearance and onward delivery are separate unless agreed.

CFR — Cost and Freight

For sea transport under CFR, the seller pays freight to the named destination port; risk transfers on board at the shipment port. The seller has no obligation under CFR to provide insurance.

DAP — Delivered at Place

Under DAP, the seller bears risk to the named destination with goods ready for unloading. The buyer normally handles unloading, import clearance and import duties or taxes. Confirm the precise named place and responsibilities.

Packaging

Packed for an ocean voyage, not a warehouse shelf

Consumable castings are heavy, and machined faces do not forgive poor packing.

STEP 01

Protect the machined faces

Timber and foam protection over seating faces, tapers and threads.

STEP 02

Secure the part

Steel strapping and timber skids for heavy items; cradles for pulleys and shafts.

STEP 03

Crate or container

Crated individually or container-stuffed with dunnage to prevent movement in transit.

STEP 04

Photograph and seal

Packing photographs can be included where agreed before shipment.

Documentation

What travels with the shipment

Commercial and technical documents depend on the shipment, destination and agreed order scope.

Packing list

Itemised by part number and quantity, matched to the invoice.

Commercial invoice

Correctly valued for customs clearance, with HS codes where required.

Material certificates

Material and inspection records are supplied where specified for the ordered components.

Customs documentation

Origin and clearance documents are confirmed with the shipment and destination requirements.

Questions

Shipping and logistics, answered

Including GST treatment, payment terms and what happens if something is damaged in transit.

Yes. We quote either to an Australian port on CIF or CFR terms, or delivered to your nominated address on DAP terms — which can be a depot, a freight forwarder, a port warehouse or the mine gate itself.

For remote sites, tell us the access restrictions and the receiving hours and we will build that into the freight arrangement rather than discovering it on the day of delivery.

Availability, manufacturing time, dispatch and estimated transit time are confirmed for the particular order and route. Please identify any shutdown-critical delivery date.

We quote the specific dates for your enquiry rather than a generic range, and if the schedule moves we tell you before the original date passes, not after.

The quotation states the applicable tax treatment and whether quoted prices include GST. Import duties, clearance and any import taxes must also be addressed in the agreed shipping scope.

Payment method and timing are confirmed on the quotation. Credit arrangements, where available, require prior agreement.

Wear parts are strapped and palletised with timber protecting the machined faces, then crated or container-stuffed depending on size and quantity. Heavier items such as pulleys, main shafts and jaw stocks are mounted on timber skids and steel-strapped.

Ask for packing photographs and a packing list as part of the agreed shipment documentation.

Record visible damage and packaging condition at receipt, note it on delivery documents and notify us promptly. Keep the packaging and supporting photographs. Claim handling depends on the agreed transport terms, insurance and cause of damage.

Tell us where it has to be and when

Send the destination and the required date and we will come back with a delivered price on the Incoterm that suits you.
